China Diary Part 7: The Great Wall of China

The main must-see on my China list, standing on the Great Wall was truly awe-inspiring.

We went early to the Mutianyu stretch of the Wall to avoid crowds and haze, but it was still a little hazy. After Huangshan our legs were still pretty shaky, but otherwise Mutianyu is a great choice for those wanting to see long stretches of the Wall, without too much hiking, and without the crowds of the more famous entry point, Badaling.

My friend also recommended Huanghaucheng and after seeing a YouTube clip, I’m pretty keen to return one day to make that hike.
