China Diary Part 1: A weekend in Shanghai

· · | Photography | 1 Comment on China Diary Part 1: A weekend in Shanghai

Arriving in Shanghai, my first impression is of chaos. The incessant honking, the unruly traffic flow, the extreme modernity of the city’s high rises coming into sharp contrast with the old townhouses, adorned with garlands of washing.

But just as I allow my eyes time to focus when I wake each morning, Shanghai came into focus as I wandered the streets in the late afternoon on the day of my arrival. Everywhere I turned there was something new, something wondrous.

Shanghai has magic in its veins.
