“To weather the rain; to weather the snow; to weather the storm…”
- Kruder & Dorfmeister/Lamb
Hail fell; icey reminders of our insignificance and unimportance. Soon after, the streets became rivers swelling with black water and debris and lost shoes. At intersections, where streets sunk, I pushed through knee-high water. Shops shut, mops came out and people waded to the safety of doorsteps and stranded trams.
I am home now, dry and warm and I laugh with relief as I check my camera.
Thunder rolls and sirens slice the afternoon air.
Some car wash…
The ladies at Cue try to stay dry while watching the carnage outside.
Those are hailstones beyond their feet.

Hey Gin, do you have any of these pics in high res (for print)? I’m writing an article on Melbourne and would love to talk to you about using a couple… Lemme know what you think!
Tina, yes of course. Just let me know which ones & I’ll send them through to you.
I do like the shots of the Cue ‘ladies’!
